Venice Biennale of Architecture
Mostra di Architettura di Venezia, the Architecture section of the Venice Biennale, was established in 1980, although architecture had been a part of the art biennale since 1968. As well as addressing the academic side of architecture, the Biennale is an occasion where big-name architects and designers showcase new projects, arranged in different pavilions, each with different themes. The Biennale is held from June 7 through November 23,2014 in the Biennale Gardens. This year the Venice Biennale is curated by Rem Koolhaas.

The London Design Festival is an annual event, held to celebrate and promote London as the design capital of the world, and as the gateway to the international creative community. The London Design Festival 2014 will be held 13 – 21 September 2014.
From 14-22 September 2013 London witnessed an explosion of design energy as visitors to the 11th Festival enjoyed over 300 events across the capital. Over the Festival period there are hundreds of events taking place across London encompassing a wide range of design diciplines. Design fair’s partner organisations put on a dazzling variety of events that show the richness and depth of the design activity that takes place in the capital. London’s visitors will have a chance to attend the series of major events in some of London’s most iconic spaces.
Landmark Project: Double Space for BMW – Precision & Poetry in Motion
Designers, Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby, have collaborated with BMW to create a remarkable and memorable experience in the V&A’s Raphael Gallery. Sharing a fascination with the aesthetics of motion and the idea of an experiential installation, Barber & Osgerby have designed ‘Double Space for BMW’, a kinetic sculpture that creates an immersive experience for the viewer.
