Milan is one of the prime references for any lover of fashion, art and architecture, especially during Design Week, an event that brings together the best of the furniture and decorative accessories, showing the world trends in style, materials, colors and technology.
Also known as Salone Internazionale del Mobile di Milano, or simply iSaloni, the event was born in 1961 and is now the largest event of its kind and covers an area of ​​230 000 m2.
The event doesn’t constrain itself in the area of the fair, it takes over the entire city, with parallel events and exhibitions.
The fair started at 8th and ends on 13th April and we can already point some of the best trends and novelties from this year’s edition:
1. James Hayon’s Pina lounge chair and rocker
Jaime Hayon’s Pina chair was this year reinvented by Magis that released it in a lounge chair version and a rocker.
2. Delightfull Design Studio’s Atomic Chandelier and Atomic Fixture
The molecular chandelier with interesting forms is a novelty from this year and is been presented at Isaloni also with its wall version.
3. Mariposa sofa by Barber and Osberby
Despite the shocking colour, this sofa was one of the best new pieces at the show – the Mariposa sofa by Barber and Osberby for Vitra has a flexible back and sides to allow a slight recline.
CYGNUS display is inspired by the homonymous constellation which is one of the brightest and largest constellations in the sky. This elegant design piece is composed by several rectangles and squares made of cast brass and finished in copper.
5. Collection of wallpaper design with Studio Job for NLXL brand
A collection of wallpaper design with Studio Job for NLXL brand. As in all other creations of Studio, each piece is unique, since the prints are not repeated or has standards.
6. Boa sofa by The Campana Brothers
Edra is known for some of the most creative and edgy furniture designs. The Boa, designed several years ago by the Campana Brothers is a sofa, now available in iridescent velvet. Outrageous and super comfortable.
7. Boca do Lobo’s mirror Neapoli
Wonderfully structured, the radial petals of Neapoli produce a beautiful flower-like design which is bound to impress. It can be seen at Hall 6, stand F56.
