Welcome to the fourth edition of the Palermo Design Week, the international exhibition dedicated to the design culture in Southern Italy and Sicily!
The initiative was launched last June 29 and continue through Sunday, July 8 in the space of the Porch of St. Bartholomew.
Palermo Design Week is an annual event which promotes the image of the city of Palermo and Sicily in the international scene of design, graphics, art.
The event is organized by the Cultural Icod sponsored by the Regional Province of Palermo, Confindustria, the Architects of the province of Palermo, Palermo Federalberghi Hoteliers Association and the Consortium Palermo Hotels.
Palermo Design Week is the brainchild of Icod and its founder, the architect Giuseppe Finocchio, who, following a design meeting held in Belgrade, has decided to spread the design Sicilian encouraging local trade and international relations.
The renowned architect and designer Riccardo Dalisi was the guest of honor at the opening day of 29 June with a keynote address entitled “A Message for Palermo,” which followed the delivery to the designer of the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Among the exhibitions which will run until 8th July there is the exhibition “Paper Museums” curated by Alessandro Lo Schiavo, promoted by Aliantedizioni, with construction by Makoto Kawamoto. The exhibition brings together objects of paper made from 20 among the most famous names of Italian design, inspired by the Italian museums and merchandising as proposed for the bookshop of its museums.
