LIGHT + BUILDING
Meet the Future presents new talents
‘Meet the Future’ (Treffpunkt Zukunft) is a special initiative by Messe Frankfurt aimed at fostering young talent. School and university students are invited to Light+Building by Messe Frankfurt. There they can get an overview of the sector and its innovations and establish contact with potential training centers or employers.
‘Meet the Future’ is composed of a variety of projects, which focus in specific ways on young talents from a very broad range of disciplines:
Workshop street, where young visitors to the fair are particularly welcome! Trainees from the electrical and information technology trades have the chance to try things for themselves and to discover the latest techniques.
Seminars on health and safety in workplace: this section, aimed at young people who are already training for a career, provides useful information about health and safety in the workplace and accident prevention.
Young Design: young creative talents introduce themselves to a trade and professional public and present their first lighting designs.
Promotional area for young companies: Light+Building 2012 helps newly founded companies to break into the market with the first promotional area for young, innovative companies. The promotional area is offered in cooperation with the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Technologie – BMWi).
Design Plus: Design Plus powered by Light+Building competition offers young creative talents in the field the opportunity to submit their ideas for assessment by a panel of international experts. The award-winning prototypes will be displayed as part of Light+Building in a special exhibition.
Building Performance Congress
Held in parallel with Light + Building – the world’s leading trade fair for architecture and technology – the Building Performance Congress offers the opportunity to exchange knowledge and discuss themes relating to lighting and integrated building technology. Well-known experts from Germany and the international community will be giving presentations to illuminate the latest developments relating to the themes of Light + Building.
Messe Frankfurt launches Cleanzone
From 24 to 25 October 2012, Messe Frankfurt will be launching Cleanzone, a trade fair and congress that is being established as a new platform for the wide-ranging applications of clean room technology. Clean rooms are microparticle-free rooms that are used in a variety of fields, including the pharmaceuticals industry, food technology and various branches of the computer and electronics industries.
Wolfgang Marzin, President and Chief Executive Officer of Messe Frankfurt: “With Cleanzone, we are creating a new platform at our Frankfurt base for the rapidly expanding applications of clean room technology, and we intend to make use of our exhibitor network here as well.” Klaus Reinke, member of the Executive Board of Messe Frankfurt Exhibition GmbH and responsible for the new event, adds: “It is our objective to offer the industry an ideal venue for establishing new collaborations, increasing expertise and showcasing the latest technological developments. As a result, the trade fair will be accompanied by an extensive range of presentations and workshops.” Messe Frankfurt will be receiving technical assistance for Cleanzone from the Reinraum-Akademie, a clean room training academy in Leipzig.
