Also, right in the heart of the capital of Neederlands, Amsterdam, took place the vibrating Inside Design Amsterdam 2012, organized by the dutch Elle Decoration, with the special partner “I am Amsterdam”.
This already known dutch design initiative (the first edition was in 2003) used to put the focus on a design route which visitors could follow throughout the city. Over the years, the event continued to grow and now takes place in one central location to accommodate the many visitors, designers, brands and exhibitors that are attracted to this initiative.
This year, Inside Design Amsterdam was located in IJburg for the second time, occurring between 21th and 23th September. This exceptional location is filled with modern architecture and surrounded by water.
We highlight the famous ELLE Decoration Design Talent Award, which was revealed at the grand opening of the event, on September 21: Flip, by Vanessa Tiggelhoven, was chosen by the audience. The jury who chose the two great finalists (Vanessa Tiggelhoven and Frederick Roijé) consisted of interior designers Giulio Cappellini , Marcel Wanders, Ilse Crawford and Adri Vlasblom. From these two choices, the audience had to choose the great winner, winning Vanessa with Flip.
Among the audience, it was raffled the limited edition chair Mr B by François Azambourg for Cappellini, which was won by Matthisjs Werdler from Utrecht.
The participants at the 2012 edition are creatively challenging, which is the case of Jack Brandsma, invited by Elle Decoration to present a project presentation during Inside Design 2012. He turned the mobile SpareSpace in a hull space temporarily transformed into a fine work and meeting.
Also, Design Post Amsterdam, a new interior collectively with a total area of 1500m2, showcased leading interior brands Arco, Danskina, Eikelboom, Flos, Kvadrat, Montis, Moroso and Palau, which presented their collections to the Cruquiusweg 109 and 111 in Amsterdam. They were inspiring presentations of design furniture and lighting.
We also had the chance to see Dutch Design Year, an exhibition space and design shop full of the latest interior products. It combines the work of well-known designers Daphna Laurens, Dirk vander Kooij, Jo Meesters, Lex Pott, Pepe Heykoop, Dennis Parren and many others. We highlight Cmyk lamp, by Dennis Parren for Dutch Design Year.
Roche Bobois also presented high quality furniture. It has been producing for over 50 years exclusive haute couture design in two main collections: Les Nouveaux Contemporains and Les Classiques.
As you can see, Inside Design Amsterdam totally worth it!
