The FADfest 2015 Barcelona, held from 29 June to 5 July is now over, but we still have time to relive some of the best moments of this amazing design event.
Fuera de lugar (Out of Place) exhibition, a collective and international show presenting works and projects presented the practice of displacement and the inappropriate as methods for pointing out unusual and unexpected perspectives for analysis and action.
The Out of Place exhibition was the result of the work undertaken by the curator team headed by Rosa Pera and comprised of herself and five professionals representing the different disciplines of the FAD: Pau de Solà Morales, Ana Domínguez Siemens, Albert Martínez López-Amor, Jesús-Ángel Prieto and Juan Vidal. The team has worked to transversally tackle the “out of place” concept proposed by Pera in contemporary creative practice.
The inauguration of Out of Place and The Best Design of the Year, the annual exhibition of the shortlisted projects in the prizes awarded by the FAD, was the green light for the start of the FADfest 2015, which in its inaugural session boasted a programme of lectures, dialogues and talks on the “out of place” theme.
In this year edition the organization presented the prizes awarded by the FAD: FAD Awards to Architecture 2015, Laus Awards to Graphic Design and Visual Communication 2015 and MODAFAD Awards. The Delta Awards to Industrial Design, the ART-FAD Awards to Art and Craft and the City to City FAD Award become biannual and will be presented next year.
The 38th edition of MODAFAD also taked place in the FadFest 2015 edition, with the catwalk of emerging fashion designers, the reference point of the future of fashion.
MODAFAD returning with its fashion show of emerging artists, a selection of the best final theses of students’ degrees, from design schools from around the country. The fashion shows culminated with the MODAFAD T Project Fashion Awards Ceremony and the winners had the opportunity to present a collection in the next edition of 080 Barcelona Fashion.
