Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce decorated at London’s Claridge’s Hotel, a christmas tree that was unveiled on Tuesday and was inspired by the designers’ childhood memories.
Whimsical deer, rabbits, and squirrels gather amid the woodland scene. Three hundred glimmering glass ornaments blown by artisans in Bellagio are hand-painted with international flags. Luxurious ribbons made by Dolce & Gabbana’s tailors in Milan are tied into festive bows. And in typical D&G fashion, there is a touch of history: A throne, a crown, and the coat of a Norman king are gathered at the base of the tree, representing the Norman conquest of Dolce’s native Sicily in 1061.
With a VIP guest list that included Kylie and Anna Kendrick, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana welcomed friends and clients to a chic Christmas affair at Claridge’s last night in London.
Inside the famed Brook Street hotel, guests were treated to an array of festivity in the shape of a sea of gifts, false – but chic – snow and of course the decadent tree designed and decorated by the designer duo.
