MILAN DESIGN WEEK – Salone Internazionale del Mobile
Dive into the I Saloni 2012
Almost literally. In fact, one of the new four IN-lounge areas designed by Piero Russi for the International Bathroom Exhibition and EuroCucina is called IN-pool.
At pavilion 24, the exhibitors can take a bath “IN the pool”, that is a break in an area surrounded by a perimeter wall covered with the image of the traditional basins’ tiles-mosaic and dominated by 7 blocks that contain within it a veritable pool with springboard, ladders and lanes with walls and flags depicting a typical underwater effect.
Tables and transparent chairs will “float” in the swimming pool, recreating a restaurant, where guests can relax for a moment or take a lunch break.
Also at the International Bathroom Exhibition, but at Pavilion 22, is “IN-beauty”, the unique lounge open to the public, who will have access to iSaloni on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 April.
This lounge is dedicated to wellness and it is formed by some areas coated with coloured walls and mirrors, in a tribute to what we could define the main ally (or enemy) of our beauty: the mirror.
At EuroCucina exhibitors can get into “IN-pot”, at pavilion 9, or “IN-table”, at pavilion 15. The first lounge is a pot placed on a fake big electric plate from which sprout spaghetti, lining the walls, while the “IN-table” one is a XL outdoor table with a red and white tablecloth placed upside down to serve as the perimeter wall.
Both these areas are true restaurants, where you can dine quietly, surrounded by a playful, funny, optimistic and cheerful atmosphere.
At pavilion 13, at the caravans’ square designed to accommodate the newsrooms of the most important national newspapers, there is another area for catering. Chef Mauro Uliassi, awarded two Michelin stars, will prepare some delicious street food for visitors.
