The Detroit Design Festival is North America’s festival of independent design. With over 500 designers, 25,000 attendees and 30 Design Happenings, the so called DDF is the perfect opportunity to celebrate Detroit’s in a proper wat.
Seen as a global center of design and creativity, Detroit’s Creative Corridor and various neighborhoods throughout the city will host a large amount of events and installations.
Happening from September 22-26, it is an event with a full schedule, with a large amount of smaller events bringing life to Detroit: the Eastern Market After Dark, Design in Motion, the Youth Innovation Center, Light Up Livernois, Youth Day among many other independent happenings.
This design event is provided by DC3, which is an economic development organization with a targeted purpose: providing support to Detroit’s creative industries in the form of resources, exposure, and advocacy in order to grow Detroit’s creative economy and recognize Detroit as a global center for design. The DC3 is a partnership between Business Leaders for Michigan and the College for Creative Studies.
