Clerkenwell Design Week, one of the UK’s leading independent design festivals is happening in London. With over 60 showrooms and more architects per square mile than anywhere else in the world, there is plenty of creativity to be celebrated here.

British fashion designer Paul Smith has reinvented the Anglepoise Type75 desk lamp, adding colours to the iconic aluminium design. Paul Smith picked a set of discordant but vibrant colours to add to different elements of the lamp.

Anglepoise is displaying Smith’s lamp at the Design Factory exhibition in the Farmiloe Building on St John Street during London’s Clerkenwell Design Week festival, which ends today.

Stunning and colourful giant mural tile unveiled at Clerkenwell Design Week 2014

Textile artist and colour consultant Ptolemy Mann and Johnson Tiles have unveiled a stunning mural made up of more than 4,200 tiles at this year’s Clerkenwell Design Week in London. The spectrum of unusual shades launch the brand new Prismatics range of coloured tiles from the UK’s leading tile manufacturer.

This gigantic wall entitled Prismatic Landscape, covers the outside of the Farmiloe Building, home to The Design Factory. the installation covers nearly 100 square metres, adorning three of the building’s walls in a striking effect.

Tile Mile a modern reinterpretation of the classic Turkish patterns takes over the historical 16th century building,  St John’s Gate

Design practice Russ + Henshaw have teamed up with Turkish Ceramics to showcase their creative vision into inner-city architecture. The innovative design duo have taken over the historical St John’s Gate with the mesmerizing Tile Mile.

Cristian Zuzunaga in collaboration for Brinton Carpets showcases Deep Grid Rug, a geometric patterned rug

Clerkenwell Design Week 2014 Novelties, british brand Brinton Carpets showcase their geometric patterned and colourful rugs

Brinton Carpets are launching their patented ‘High Definition Weave’ collections which enable the production of photo realistic carpets. They will also present the Deep Grid rug by Christian Zuzunaga and run a series of presentations on topics such as rug designing for the electronic jacquard looms and their archive collection of Japanese Katagami stencils.
