City Guide: The Best Places to Party in Paris – The popular event Maison Et Objet is just around the corner. The interior design industry will be held between January 18th and January 22nd, 2019 at Paris Nord Villepinte. If you are going to attend this major event, make sure you got some time to visit these places:
A design-focused hotel bar reviving Pigalle’s racy heyday. This address certainly has a colorful past. A former brothel, Maison Souquet is now a clandestine hotel with a bar of the same name – which truly embraces the Pigalle of yesteryear. Décor is Jacques Garcia’s Belle Époque meets orientalism, including original pieces like 1895 Cordoba leather on the walls, Moorish earthenware, porcelain, vintage furniture, and molded fireplaces. Address: 10 Rue de Bruxelles, 75009 Paris.
This speakeasy-style bar in 8th arrondissement does its fashionable best to capture the feeling of a clandestine bar in 1920s Chicago, as Prohibition was in full swing. Hidden behind a large black door, Blaine is located at the bottom of what appears to be a disused staircase. Whisper a password, follow a corridor and open a door, and only then will you reach the small candlelit space. Address: 65 Rue Pierre Charron, 75008 Paris.
This snazzy new cocktail bar has quickly bedded in as one of the hippest in the city. The interior of Gravity is properly stylish, a large, light space with these white wave-shaped slats covering the ceiling. It’s dramatic and theatrical, an effect enhanced by the bar’s huge steel counter. Address: 44 Rue des Vinaigriers, 75000 Paris.
With its huge oak bar, its high-range wall of spirits and leopard armchairs, Shake ‘n’ Smash has the elegance of old cabaret bars. You will easily find it between the Place de la République and the Town Hall of the 3rd arrondissement. Address: 87 Rue de Turbigo, 75003 Paris.
