LIGHT + BUILDING
Buildings as power stations in the smart grid
Organiser: Messe Frankfurt
Date: 15-20 April 2012
Location: Outdoor area P11 – between halls 8, 9 and 11
The special show “Buildings as power stations in the smart grid” picks up on the issues relating to intelligent energy management. It demonstrates what decentralized energy generation, using regenerative energies, might look like in the future. The exhibition showcases networked buildings as power stations that produce, use and store sustainable energy and are linked in to a ‘smart grid’.
Visitors will be able to see – often in operation – examples of the way in which various components for generating electricity with renewable energies, metering it (‘Smart metering’), distributing and storing it all interact in a building.
In parallel to this special exhibition, the ‘E-House’, presented by the ZVEH (Association of the German Electrical and Information Technology Industry) in Hall 8.0 over 100 square meters, will demonstrate in a realistic example what possibilities intelligent buildings can offer in the way of energy efficiency, comfort, convenience and security.
