Celebrating the power and impact of photography on the way we sense and experience spaces, ‘building images’ — an exhibition of the best architectural photography worldwide — is presented at Sto Werkstatt in Cerkenwell.
The showcase comprises winning images from the arcaid images architectural photography awards 2014 including 14 of the world’s most renowned architectural photographers including overall winners
hufton + crow, David Borland, Sonia Mangiapane, Tim Van de velde and Mads Mogensen. During the World Architecture Festival, a highly acclaimed panel looked beyond the architecture itself, considering the photographers’ merits in composition, light, sense of place, atmosphere and use of scale. ‘building images’ will focus on the medium’s practice, methodology and means of architectural representation.
The exhibition is divided into four categories that explore different architectural qualities, technical approaches and methodologies. The categories ‘building in use‘, ‘exteriors’, ‘interiors’ and ‘sense of place’ demonstrate a versatile range of photographic styles and approaches, while featuring a varied set of architectural forms.
