Sony has announced the World Photography Organization is officially accepting entries for the 2016 Sony World Photography Awards, the largest photography competition in the world.
The Sony World Photography Awards is going on its ninth year and continues to hold its place as one of the most coveted competitions a photographer can enter into. The competition not only highlights the beautiful people, places, animals and landscapes from around the world, but also highlights emerging photographers year after year, showcasing the best of what the photography world has to offer.
There are five competitions in total: Professional, Open, Youth and Student Focus, each of which have their own categories for entry. Additionally, there are 47 National Awards, where the best image from each country is awarded.
This year’s prizes reflect those of past years. In addition to being included in the Sony World Photography Awards exhibition at Somerset House, London and the resulting awards book, Sony gear and cash are up for grabs, $30,000 in total for the overall winners.
If you already have an image or two you’re looking to enter, head over to the World Photography Organisation’s website and submit your work. You can also keep up to date on the latest happenings through WPO’s Twitter page.
